The big day

It’s SpaceX IPO day. I’m going to be fascinated to see what happens when the stock starts trading. I have a hard time not seeing the stock pop today. A lot of people’s net worth is about to jump significantly. Of course, the million dollar question is what happens afterwards. Every price movement in SPCX is going to be followed and talked about for at least the year.

The excitement continues into the evening as the World Cup for the US Men’s National Team kicks off. Here in New York, the excitement is definitely overshadowed by the Knicks’ finals run. It feels like Americans barely know that the World Cup is happening in North America this year.

That can all change quickly though. Americans love a good story and want something to root for. The US Men’s National Team has a chance to give the country just that. I wonder if the lack of pressure and attention may do wonders for the team. There is not a level of expectation that US is a contender by any means and most seem very content for us just to get out of the group.

Being an underdog on home soil is a great place to be.
