Uzbekistan

I leave for my trip in about 24 hours and I have yet to pack anything. It feels good to be much more relaxed and stress-free prior to travel as compared to the stressful 2 days packing Colin and all his things. I’m going with just a big travel backpack for the first time since I went to SE Asia just about 10 years ago.

After a busy week of work, I’m finally starting to get excited to get on the plane tomorrow. It’s my first true vacation in over 2 years and taking a break from the day to day work-parenting grind is going to be incredible.

I don’t know what to expect out of Uzbekistan. I’ve heard it’s a gorgeous country with a ton of history, and incredibly people. My friend was going there already and I simply just decided to tag on, but as I did more research, I realized that I’m visiting a true hidden gem travel destination that is just starting to become a major tourist destination. For me, I was hoping for some adventure, and Uzbekistan for a week sounds like the perfect place.
